Senior Hearing Instrument Specialist

Steven S Douglas, HIS, President/Indiana Hearing Alliance, President/CEO/Hearing Aids Plus+, Member/International Hearing Society, was diagnosed with hearing loss in 1990 at the young age of 30 and was fit with his first set of hearing aids. Because of his new-found life of sound, Steve became an advocate for the hearing industry and a licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist.  He is an outdoorsman, a musician, a father, and a husband.

Mary Gootee, HIS

Mary Gootee was born and raised in a rural town in Ontario, Canada. She has been a resident of Brownsburg, Indiana for more than 30years with her husband and 2 cats. She received her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Economics from the University of Arkansas in 1988, and she received her Hearing Instrument Specialist License in 2008. Throughout her career she has helped hundreds. Since 2020 she joined HearingLife.

Mike Schantz, BC-HIS

Mike has been a member of the Indiana Hearing Alliance since 1987 and the International Hearing Society since 1989. He is board certified by the National Board of Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences. Mike attended Vincennes University and Indiana State University. He has been in the hearing healthcare field for more than 38 years and has owned his own practice since 1993. Mike is also a member of the Starkey Hearing Alliance.

Sean Norris, HIS

Co-owner of Northern Indiana Hearing Center Inc. in South Bend and Portage, IN since 2019. Sean has been a Licensed H.A.D. since 2008.  He has 10 Children, and 7 Grandsons.  He is a former auto mechanic of 20 years (and ASE certified during half of that time) before getting into the hearing industry.  He enjoys hiking and kayaking when not in the office.

Jessica Franklin

Jessica Franklin is a Hearing Instrument Specialist. Jessica has been a member of the International Hearing Society since 2022. She has been in the industry since 2016.
